Practice / Game Times:  All practices will be held at Osceola Athletic Fields .  Games will be played at Pomar Park (1600 Masters Drive).

  • Girl’s Junior – Monday & Thursday 6pm – 8pm (practice), Games 10am Saturdays
  • Girl’s Senior - Monday & Thursday 6pm – 8pm (practice), Games Noon Saturdays

PAL Junior Development League – Lacrosse (JDL LAX) 

St. Johns PAL offers Junior Development League LAX to the youth of St. Johns County.  JDL LAX is a recreational lacrosse program focused on Safety, Fun & Player Development.  The lacrosse program is open to girls who are currently in grades 3-8.  Players are grouped into Divisions based on Age, Size and Ability.  Here are some of the program highlights:

Divisions of play:   Assignments based on grade, size and ability 

  •    Girl’s Junior – 5th & 6th grade         (Monday & Thursday practice, Saturday games)
  •    Girl’s Senior – 7th & 8th grade       (Monday & Thursday practice, Saturday games) 

 

  • No Standing Around:  Games last approximately one hour with participants playing all positions on the field, providing maximum opportunity for playing time 
  • Learn the Game:  This program is a  competitive program focused on the fundamentals of the sport and learning multiple positions, rather than just winning or losing.
  • No Traveling:  All practices and games will be held at Joe Pomar Park on Masters Drive.
  • Limited Cost:  $100 fee per child, $25 off each additional. $75 for reduced lunch & $50 for free lunch.
  • Full Season:  March 26th – May 21st, with practice starting on Saturday March 5th with a PAL lacrosse clinic / equipment issue day.  Total of eight games, ending with PAL STARZ SHOOTOUT 3 on May 21st
  • Participation:  Limited to 60 girls on a first come, first serve basis. 

The Mission of this program is to provide a safe, player-friendly environment, in which kids can learn, play and enjoy the game of lacrosse. Essential to this mission are:

 The goal of this program is that every single participant has a positive and enjoyable experience, regardless of their skill or ability. An experience in which each player has the opportunity to develop new skills, gain confidence, and learn life-lessons regarding the importance of Teamwork, Responsiblity, Sportsmanship and Discipline.  Achieving this goal can encourage continued participation in the sport of lacrosse.  

Items needed at registration: 

  • Copy of Birth Certificate (unless you are a returning PAL participant)
  • Copy of Report Card, most recent
  • Copy of Sports Physical (must be dated after June 1, 2010) 

Cost:  $100 fee per child, $75 for reduced lunch* & $50 for free lunch*
